抄録 :Portland City is a town that can be described with ethical keywords such as environmentally conscious, organic, local, urban community, specialty coffee. Ethical consumption considers how our life affect with the environment and human rights. This study reveals how school education is involved in fostering an Ethical Mind that leads to a sustainable life. As a method, surveys through materials such as school books and visits and interviews were used. As a result, it turned out that the Ethical education of human rights represents the characteristics of the American society. Emphasis is placed on the desire for domestic diversity to respond to challenges such as race and poverty in the US, rather than the debate on issues such as assistance for developing countries. Ethical education in Portland can be said to be a way of education for giving possibilities to students, correcting disparities, deepening mutual understanding with different people, coexisting and realizing a sustainable society.
