We therefore have to determine which risk factors are more essential in effectively reducing or possibly preventing depression in seniors. These risk factors include Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL), the subjective sense of health, hobby, living alone, no counselor, bereavement, the subjective sense of economic conditions. This study was aimed at determining the impact of these risk factors on depression of seniors in urbanareas. A questionnaire survey was conducted with 250 men and women aged 60 and over living in an urban area, and data was analyzed for 193 valid responses. lowering of IADL, living alone, a low subjective sense of health, and anxiety about economic conditions are the main causes of depression in seniors. Reduced IADL in particular increases the fear of death and diseases and makes seniors think them a burden to others. For this reason, reduced IADL is the strongest risk factor for depression in seniors. In conclusion, investigating and determining ways of improving IADL in seniors is of utmost importance in preventing depression in seniors.}, pages = {71--79}, title = {首都圏在住の高齢者の抑うつの危険因子―高次生活動作能力に着目して―}, volume = {23}, year = {2021} }
