This study builds on the extant research to examine the concept of intersectionality and demonstrates the effectiveness and challenges of applying this principle to public policy. The concept of intersectionality is grounded in social movement\nand offers two perspectives. First, it delivers a theoretical framework enabling the analysis of complex systems of oppression and power relations. Second, it presents a critical praxis perspective seeking to achieve social justice. These two standpoints are particularly useful for public policy, which reflects varied social inequalities. Intersectionality-based policy analysis enables researchers to apprehend the manifold differences and unequal power relationships in policy development. Such examinations also allow the critical questioning of policymaking processes to build equitable societies.
