| 内容記述 | This study investigated the contents of dance classes in teacher-training courses and the students’ views on dance and dance teaching to clarify the transformation of students. Participants in a dance class at a university with a teacher-training course were observed, and semi-structured interviews were conducted with prospective teachers after the semester. The textual data obtained were analyzed using M-GTA, which generated four categories, seven subcategories, and 36 concepts. The results showed that the students had a positive impression of teaching and, conversely, a resistant or negative impression of dance classes. However, their general opinion on dance changed favorably throughout the dance classes of the teacher-training course, which is essential in the pursuit of a teaching career. The reason for this transformation was that the students sensed the goal-free characteristics of dance through activities using onomatopoeia and objects and understood the importance of physical movement through modern rhythmic dance content and improvisational activities. However, the resistance and negative opinions on dance classes some students held before this study could not be changed, and some questioned the significance of making dance classes mandatory. |
