Participants in a dance class at a university with a teacher-training course were observed, and semi-structured interviews were conducted with prospective teachers after the semester. The textual data obtained were analyzed using M-GTA, which generated four categories, seven subcategories, and 36 concepts.\nThe results showed that the students had a positive impression of teaching and, conversely, a resistant or negative impression of dance classes. However, their general opinion on dance changed favorably throughout the dance classes of the teacher-training course, which is essential in the pursuit of a teaching career. The reason for this transformation was that the students sensed the goal-free characteristics of dance through activities using onomatopoeia and objects and understood the importance of physical movement through modern rhythmic dance content and improvisational activities.
