Their activities were generallynot reported in historical sources; especially, theymad no mention of female slaves. This paper aims to study female slaves in the Islamicworld during the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. This study is based on the following three sources: Alf Layla wa Layla（ also known asthe Arabian Nights）, the travel journal which known as Rihla Ibn Battuta, ,the chronicle al-Ta'liq（meaning miscellaneous remarks）. These sources provide rich information on female slaves, how they were sold, and their marriage, manumission and death. This paper will present the following conclusion. Many differences were found among the slaves in terms of their work and social relation.
