Reviewing historical studies on her, we find that historians have given her many images ; as a discerning cruel politician （Machiavelli in a skirt）, as an idealized elegant court lady （prima donna del mondo - first lady in the world）, as an oppressive haughty patron （being pedantic and pretentious）, and as the first modern woman （protofeminist）.
