The uniform male Saint-Simonians adopted as a slogan of this ideology was called “the clothes of the apostle of women’s liberation”. But there are still a lot of uncertain points about the clothing of female Saint-Simonians consisting of a blue dress, drawers, a scarf, red hat and belt. This thesis aims at clarifying the relationship between the female Saint-Simonian’s clothes and the ideology of liberating women in Saint-Simonism with the help of newspapers by feminists, collections of discourse and memoirs.
