First, to reveal the way of infants’ exploration of physical\ environment which relates to life habits in a day-care center. Second, to analyze relationship between infants’\ exploration and introduction of life habits by nursery teachers. Six infants who belong to a class of first year\ of life were observed for 7 months. Observation focused on infants’ exploration of physical environment\ which related to washing-hands habit and clean-up habit, namely, tap and sink for washing-hands habit, and\ shelves and baskets for clean-up habit , respectively. Infants weren’t interested in tap or sink at all before\ nursery teachers introduced washing-hands habit, but infants were interested in and started exploration of tap\ and sink thereafter. Similarly, infants weren’t interested in shelves or baskets at all before nursery teachers\ introduced clean-up habit, but infant were interested in and started exploration of shelves and baskets\ thereafter.
