In the first act, bending the hip-joints, the arms were stretched strongly sideway in the height of the shoulder, the hands stretched and the palms facing downward. In the second act, upper arms were held in the same horizontal position, the forearms were relaxed promptly. Degree of voluntary contraction and relaxation of the arm was measured on the electromyogram of three main muscles of the upper arm : m. biceps brachii, m. triceps brachii and m. deltoides. Subjects A and B were well trained in physical exercise and dancing, C was untrained. To take the electromyogram, plate electrodes which were attached on the surface of the arm were used. It was found on the electromyogram that three all of the above mentioned muscles contracted in the first act. In the second act, m. deltoides contracted in the trained as well as in the untrained subjects, m. biceps brachii and m. triceps brachii were relaxed completely in the trained but not completely relaxed in the untrained. Dexterity of the partial relaxation of the arms\ was discussed in connection with nervous integrity.}, pages = {93--96}, title = {腕の部分的弛緩の筋電圖學的研究}, volume = {3}, year = {1952} }
