Especially I explore these issues by focusing upon the treatments of Kyoto City Administration for married female teachers’ maternity leaves and their working efficiency in the 1920s. At first, I precisely analyze the articles of the newspaper, Kyoto Hinode Shinbun which reported the movement of married female teachers’ demands and movements about their maternity leaves and working efficiency in Kyoto City. Secondly I analyze The Survey on Elementary Female Teachers in which Kyoto City Administration surveyed the situations of female teachers’ maternity leaves and the working efficiency in the 1920s. From this research, I could get the facts of married female teachers’ maternity leaves and working efficiency in The Survey on Elementary female Teachers, and that The Association of Elementary Female Teachers held by Kyoto City Administration had demands on the coexisting of the vocation and home management, while Kyoto City Administration insufficiently responded to their demands. Consequently I will prove that this response of Kyoto City Administration comes from “Gakku Sei” - the system of school districts in Kyoto City, and the educational finance in Kyoto City.}, pages = {71--89}, title = {1920年代、京都市小学校女性教員における産休・勤務能率問題}, volume = {9}, year = {2006} }
