According to a questionnaire\\\nsurvey (Li, 2014), Japanese speakers use it more often than Chinese speakers do. How can the “re-thanking on\\\nprevious indebtedness” as a thanking strategy through interactions of conversations be explained?\\\nThis paper revealed the difference of two languages’ speech acts by discourse analysis of conversations\\\nwhich derived from role-playing of university students who are familiar with each other. Consequently, on all\\\nthree situations of reunion after getting benefits, Japanese speakers express gratitude whereas Chinese speakers\\\ndo not use the illocutionary act of thanking at all. The speech act of thanking additionally has a variety of\\\naspects: what is expressed through previous indebtedness is not only giving gratitude but also receiving thanks.\\\nThat is, the benefactor produces the situation of mutually thanking.
