Using decision\\\ntree analysis, a hierarchy of the influential relations for the various factors was seen. While culture factors and gender were\\\nobserved as weak factors, it was seen that the degree of embarrassment the speaker had to the addressee and the social\\\ndistance produced robust effects. On the awareness of the situation, Chinese speakers learning Japanese showed a bidirectional\\\ninfluencing relationship indicating that both a pragmatic transfer (L to L ) and a reverse transfer (L to L ) occurred; thus,\\\ndiffering from both baseline groups.
