The result of the factor analysis shows that the image of the Japanese consists of six factors: \"openness\", \"congeniality\", \"diligence\", \"tolerance\", \"advancement\", and \"intimacy of interpersonal relationships\". The Japanese learning motivation is characterized by seven factors, namely \"understanding the Japanese cultures\", \"improving their Japanese language\", \"interest in the Japanese language\", \"admiration of Japan\", \"study and work in Japan\", \"practical purpose\", and \"having links with Japan- related people\".
