We analyzed a case in which the mother of a student (Brazilian junior high school, grades 2~3) played a supporting in lessons, based on the \"inter development and learning model of academic learning, the first language and the second language\" (Okazaki 1997). We looked for possible ways in which the parents could take part in the education of their children. Situations in which such parental support could take place were selected using \"the Macroscopic Model\", and I chose situations that I could study and interpret in which the mother helped to maintain 1) the level of aptitude/competence of the student's mother tongue and 2) vitality beliefs and identity inherent to the student's mother tongue. My analysis was based on communication between the mothers, the students and their Japanese supporters.
