That’s because while the body movements of belly dancing is strange and horrible for many Western people in the second half of the nineteenth century, on the other hand that is erotic and sensual. So this dance became an extraordinary attraction.\ In the site of this international exposition in Paris, belly dance was performed by various levels of dancers from professional to amateur, especially the women who was performing belly dance in this \ exposition were called “almée”. And this dance was presented in seven venues. These venues had great varieties, for example, an amphitheater, a café and a souk.
