This study compares two groups of students; those who help with housework and\ those who don't. This study uses data from 200 respondents from a boys' junior high school, and it\ examines how family living arrangements, parents employment status, siblings, school club activities,\ commute time to school, and class participation are associated with the level of their role in housework.\ Our results indicate that it is more likely for students to help with housework when they have (1)\ view home economics class positively and (2) more active participation in home economics class.\ In conclusion, one important theme in Home Economics Education is independence and coexistence\ of the individual and groups.
