The purpose of this paper is to explore this question through a rural / urban comparative analysis. \ The result was derived from semi-structured interviews conducted with 19 highly educated single women between 2007 and 2012 in Shimane prefecture and the city of Tokyo.\ Living in the parental home has different meanings for the interviewees. In the case of Shimane, even highly educated young people cannot find a stable job easily. Living in the parental home is not only important for supporting their present lives, but also for increasing their savings for the future. \ On the other hand, the women living in Tokyo have stable jobs with ordinary wages. Living in the parental home is cheaper than living in the urban city and thus a way to save money. Interviewees expressed feelings of guilt about living longer with their parents, although leaving home is not easy for them. A common justification by the interviewees is that living together is good for their parents and that they will move out when they get married.}, pages = {127--135}, title = {ポスト青年期女性の親元同居 : 地方都市・首都圏在住者の比較}, volume = {16}, year = {2014} }
