The earlier works concerning the prodigies target only at the specific period in Germany. But the case of Britain where the public concert starts has not yet researched in detail. Britain, especially London was a city that prospered as a music city as well as Paris and Vienna, and where the commercialization of music came promptly through the development of capitalism and journalism. Therefore, it is useful for clarifying of the childhood in Britain to examine the realities of the prodigies there. I considered them, analyzing the descriptions concerning prodigies in the music magazine articles on the 19th century. In Britain, the articles that praise the prodigies were the majority, and after it had entered the 20th century, the articles that criticized the prodigies were written for the first time.
