Among his various achievements in the promotion and encouragement of khomus music, his contributions in the publishing of and writing about khomus music are highly regarded. In his guidebook, Shishigin begins with some fundamental knowledge about the khomus, and follows with much information on technique: how to hold the instrument and pluck its tongue; various playing techniques and breathing methods; three styles of playing the khomus; etc. In Sakha, the khomus is considered to be an important musical instrument inherited from antiquity, and its music is believed to inspire joy in humans, make sad feelings disappear, and cure sickness. Some feel that preserving the traditional playing of the khomus would be a bridge to the continued flourishing and development of Sakha culture. In conclusion, I observe that it is Shishigin’s intention to teach Sakha khomus to people, not only in order that they should acquire khomus playing technique, but also that they know how important it is to\ preserve their own traditional music by playing the Sahka khomus.}, pages = {121--129}, title = {S.シシーギン(2003)の教本にみるサハの口琴ホムスの演奏法}, volume = {12}, year = {2010} }
