But it is not used by each expression strictly distinguishing. In addition, no studies have ever tried to clarify about the arguments for whom and what. Therefore, what I wish to examine in this paper is two points. The first is to show the dimensions and relationship among pluralistic theory of the literacy. The second is to clarify the applicability and the problem of theory of the literacy in the museum. Then I propose the review and the restructuring of theory of the literacy. In conclusion, I indicate that the necessity of literacy is explained by four contexts. The first is improvement of understanding the museum. The second is to encourage citizen participation to the museum activity. The third is to support for the use. The fourth is to support of use by school training. Many of these contexts value the literacy as the result of the act.
