This study focuses on how asymmetrical relationship changes into symmetrical relationship. Subject of this study are foreign and Japanese university students involved in group-activities. Based on the method known as Conversation Analysis, this paper shows how the participants themselves construct the categories of 'native/ non-native speakers' in ongoing interaction which results in asymmetrical interaction.
