However, their attitudes became positive over the course of this study's support activities. The purpose of this study is to explore the process of attitudinal transformation in native supporters participating in classes that were based on the 'Interactive ability development model for subject studies in children's native language and Japanese'. Semi-structured interviews were conducted for three native supporters. Resultant data were qualitatively analyzed using a modified grounded theory approach. Analysis results demonstrated that the factors behind the supporters' attitudinal transformation constituted an inquiry-based approach to learning support with the following components: 1) investigation of the children's proficiency in their native language. 2) introduction of native language and culture into Japanese class. 3) creation of original teaching materials drawing upon the children's proficiency in their native language. 4) collaboration with Japanese supporters. 5) knowledge acq\ uired from interacting and working together with children.}, pages = {85--94}, title = {子どもの母語を活用した学習支援における母語話者支援者の意識変容のプロセス}, volume = {10}, year = {2008} }
