会福祉の研究領域では長い間取り組まれていたテーマの1 つであった．しかし\
ながら，それらのテーマは応用経済学の分野ではほとんど実証されてこなかっ\
たテーマの1 つである．本研究は不安という意識に着目しつつ，その不安の経\
路を明らかにすることを第一の目的とする．不安を規定する要因は大まかに経\
済的経路と健康の経路から説明できることが明らかになった．次に年金受給者\
の健康度に基礎年金が与える影響について分析した．基礎年金の影響は年金受\
給者の生活不安や健康度にも影響を与えていることが明らかになった．年金へ\
の信頼が高いと健康度を高くするという結果はEsser and Palme（2010）と整\
合的であり本稿の新たな知見である．基礎年金の重要性が示唆されつつも，公\
的年金だけではなく家賃収入や遺産相続などの副次的な収入もまた老後の生活\
不安を下げるためには重要であることが示唆された．, The role of public pensions in supporting the health and risk among women has long fallen\
within the purview of sociology or social work fields; however, it has received little empirical\
evaluation by applied economics scholars. This study examines the importance of public pensions\
in terms of improving the self-reported health and risk among Japanese women or men who\
retired in 2008. Using data from 633 females and 358 mixed with 181 females and 177males in\
Japan, this research examines respondents’ health and risk as well as factors affecting both these\
life aspects for women and men, including 60 years old retired person. Public pension data makes\
it possible to distinguish between two types of pension system: a “basic pension” for those who\
have either no or only a brief work history, and a “welfare pension,” with a more earning-related\
component. To compare these two types of pensions, relative measures of health and well-being\
were constructed to account for impact of receiving a basic pension only. Overall, women’s health\
was found to be maintained through receipt of the basic pension, with the gender differences of\
the results as follows: In terms of women’s health or risk, the trust in basic pension appears to\
be particularly important. Women’s risk tends to be more dependent on the quality and amount\
of basic pension. Therefore, not only basic pension but cash inflows, such as a house rent income,\
and a succession, are important.},
