We paid closest attention to wheelchair lending, as demand has been\\\nexpanding in recent years.\\\nTo clarify these gender issues, we used “The Survey of Long-term Care Benefit Expenditures”\\\nby Ministry of Health , Labour and Welfare, however very little data relating to sex was\\\navailable. We requested all of the data from the Ministry, which we were entitled to through the\\\nStatistics Law. We calculated the data by sex and put together gender statistics.\\\nConcerning wheelchair distribution, there was a clear difference in the usage rate of men and women. Through our research, we discovered that women tend to take less advantage of\\\nwheelchair services than men, and this denies them independence and increased mobility.
