Because this topic extends over many areas, including pedagogy, psychology, and sociology, teacher burnout should be viewed from an interdisciplinary perspective. The present article reviews overseas research on teacher burnout, and then explores the trends in research in Japan on this topic, focusing especially on factors relating to teacher burnout.
