This role play conversations were stimulated real-life situation which could be experienced both in Japanese and Thai university life. Analyzed by following the perspective of discourse analysis, it can be found that both Japanese and Thai showed their consideration for others, but in different ways. When requesting someone for something, Japanese native speakers are likely to show consideration by explaining their situations and reasons very clearly. On the other hands, Thai native speakers show consideration by directly requesting, which is rarely found in Japanese native situation. The findings suggest that LINE chat conversations in Japanese-Thai native situation have their own unique patterns.
