For this purpose, the semi-structured interviews were conducted to 20 mothers. Their narratives were categorized and analyzed according to children’s life course into following three points. 1) Search for education and support appropriate for the child within the framework of compulsory education. 2) Proceeding to school as a grace period before being adulthood. 3) Difficulties of choice foreseeing the life plan. In selecting elementary schools, mothers were not trying to make their choice based on the framework presented through IQ or school matching. Instead, they were trying to choose the school most appropriate for their child’s behavioral characteristic from a parent’s perspective. When children maladaptive to environment such as refusal to go to school, high schools and colleges were seen both as an opportunity to adapt to the environment for the time being, and as a moratorium period for considering the child’s foreseeable difficulties in the future. The parents were coping by overcoming the immediate challenges one by one.}, pages = {155--164}, title = {発達障害児の進路選択に対する母親の困難と対処}, volume = {21}, year = {2019} }
