グウィンが1990年以降に新たに著した＜アースシー（ゲド戦記）＞ “ 第二の三部作” におけるジェンダー・ポリティクスを考察する。多くの先行研究は第4 巻『テハヌー』をフェミニズムの達成であると論じるが、現在から眺め直したときすでにポストフェミニズムの問題が色濃く反映されている。ここで一度ル= グウィンはシリーズ終結を宣言するが、同時期の合衆国ではジュディス・バトラーによってクィア理論が隆盛し、ナンシー・フレイザーがそれを「再分配を忘れた承認の政治」と批判するなどジェンダー・ポリティクスが揺れた時代でもあった。ル= グウィンはこの論争に答えるかのように＜アースシー＞の続編『アースシーの物語』『もう一つの風』を2001
