Using experimentally determined Fermi surface morphology in the layer, we showed that the interlayer conduction in the presence of strictly in-plane magnetic field is primarily governed by tunneling between two Fermi surfaces of adjacent layers. We successfully explained the azimuthal and field dependence of the peak resistance without invoking coherence of interlayer transport.
