| 内容記述 | This study aimed to clarify how the relationship between education and children's play was discussed in the Ad Hoc Council on Education and what value was placed on that relationship. The related primary documents of the Ad Hoc Council on Education were analyzed by focusing on the response to issues and relationships with early childhood education and care (ECEC). The analysis showed that children’s play was discussed in terms of how it can respond to "informatization in education" and contribute to the resolution of "educational devastation" and the "decline of household educational capabilities," which were considered to be social issues in the 1980s. Furthermore, the relationship between ECEC and children’s play in kindergartens and nursery schools was discussed. In sum, children’s play was discussed in the Ad Hoc Council on Education for solving the problems of society at that time and realizing the objectives of educational reform. The study also revealed that the third report of the Ad Hoc Council on Education, which included references to the contents of early childhood education and revision of the course of study for kindergarten, was linked to the discussion on children’s play focused on social conditions. | |||||||||
