| 内容記述 | This paper clarifies the kind of music that appeared in literary works submitted to Joshi Bundan, a literary magazine for young women published in the late Meiji and early Taisho periods. Joshi Bundan published unedited literary works by young amateur female authors. Therefore, analyzing these works is expected to reveal the music that young women of the time were familiar with. This study investigates the musical genres, literary genres, and authors’ residential areas published in Joshi Bundan from 1907 to 1910, analyzes the characteristics of music familiar to young women during the studied period, and considers the relationship between music, literary works, and residential areas. The results indicate differences in the trends of music genres depending on the genre of literary works and residential areas. In particular, while singing （shoka） education was widespread in all residential areas, the acceptance of Western music differed by residential area. | |||||||||
