| 内容記述 | This paper explores the consciousness that influenced career choices and the process of its transformation by analyzing the life story of a Japanese-Peruvian（ Nikkei） who came to Japan with their parents at the age of compulsory education and is currently working in Japan, using the Trajectory Equifinality Approach （TEA） as the analytical method. An analysis of the bifurcation points in life trajectory revealed that the consciousness behind these choices reflected a continuation of the migration story of the parent generation, including the feeling that they had to fulfill the ‘dream of dekasegi’ that their parents held. Furthermore, it was observed that living and experiencing Japan led to a shift in perception—from viewing Japan as ‘a place where dreams cannot be fulfilled’ to ‘a place where dreams can be realized’ —resulting in a transformation of beliefs and values about the country. Consequently, it was confirmed that second-generation newcomers make decisions about their career choices based on their perceptions of whether to pursue their future prospects in Japan or in their country of origin. |
