| 内容記述 | The so-called terrible twos are a time of conflict for parents who care for toddlers, as they realize that it is an important period for the formation of their children’s egos; however, they also wonder how they should relate to their children. In this study, we focused on actual situations in which parents interact with their children during “the terrible twos,” which have not been examined in the past, and aimed to clarify the specific process by which parents overcome conflicts in their lives with their toddlers during “the terrible twos.” After analyzing the child-rearing records of the mothers, it became clear that there was a transformation of the parent-child relationship from Phase I, in which parents attempted to adjust their children’s behavior and emotional state at their own initiative in response to their children's simple requests and refusals, to Phase II, in which parents attempted various responses to their children’s various expressions, and finally, to Phase III, in which parents and children attempted to communicate with each other as a response to children’s expressions. It was also found that dialogue may have brought meaning to this transformation of the relationship. | |||||||||||
