| 内容記述 | This article explores the body images and sexuality in Marcel Duchamp's “An?mic Cin?ma” （1925-26） focusing on the vortical movement of the words written on the disks. This is his only cinematic work in complete existence and is also one of the optical illusionary works through which he pursued the scope of “vision”. Although it has already been pointed out that the optical images produced by the rotating disks and the words on the disks provide sexual connotations for this work, it has not been fully discussed how this vorticular movement of the words contributes to producing body images. Therefore, in this study, I examine how these “moving words” evoke some concrete images related to the body. Through this study I would like to show firstly, it is this movement of the words itself that enables the subjectivity of Duchamp to transform into that of Rose S?lavy and vice versa, and also enables them to interact with each other; secondly, repeated appearance of such body images created by the different rotating disks give both of them their sexuality; and lastly, the destruction of the unity of body images disturbs t\ he consciousness of the viewers. |
