| 内容記述 | 本稿は、〈老いゆく身体〉の社会構築性ならびにジェンダーとエイジングの相互作用という観点から、円地文子『彩霧』（１９７６）を読み直す試みである。『彩霧』の主人公は数え年で七〇歳の老女性作家であるが、その身体は、冒頭における若さを演出したパンタロン姿から、老いをあらわにしつつも若い男性を魅了する「斎院」へ、そして最終的には「髪の白いぼけた童女」へと変化する。この身体の異種混淆性と、一九七〇年代における女性の〈老いゆく身体〉の位相との連関性を、ファッションからの高齢女性の疎外と有吉佐和子『恍惚の人』（１９７２）の影響による〈老い〉の医療化の進展という二つの現象に焦点を当てることで明らかにした。さらに、そこから「斎院」像を逆照射し、高齢女性の身体が、〈老い〉と〈女〉という二つのカテゴリーの強制力が同時に発揮され、常に統合されざるアイデンティティが生み出される場であることを検証した。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | This paper aims to redefine the ageing female body as a social construct, and to explore the interaction of gender and ageing in postmodern society, through an analysis of Enchi Fumiko’s Saimu[1976]．The female protagonist in Saimu is a writer in her 70’s. Through a mystical process, she is transformed into a ‘Saiin’, a shaman priestess, who holds a powerful magnetic attraction for young men, later turning into a senile old woman with grizzled hair. I will locate these incoherent, fluid body images in a 1970’s historical context, concentrating on the female “ageing body” which is both alienated from the fashion and medicalized in geronto-psychiatry. From this point of view, I will reconsider the image of ‘Saiin’, in a novel which reveals without doubt that an ageing women’s identity is prevented from unification by, among others, the two social categories of “aged” and “woman”, through conceptualizations of the body. | |||||
