"本研究は平成12年度教育改善推進費(学長裁量経費)による研究である『バイリンガル育成を目指した中・高・大,日本人院生,外国人院生のティームティーチングによる支援-実施とその評価-』の報告書の一部を抜粋,再構成したものである。中学校帰国子女教育学級において,1年の地理と英語を対象に,英語母語話者の院生,日本人院生,英語科教員,社会科教員が連携し,英語と日本語で地理的分野の学習を支援する授業を正規の授業時間内に実施した。本指導法は,母語を活用すると第二言語習得が促進される(英語が「強い」言語である帰国生の場合は英語を活用する)という知見に基づくものであり,帰国生が海外で得たものを無にせず,それらの維持・強化を図りながら,同時に日本語による学習も並行して進める方法を探った。これらは,様々な人的リソースに恵まれた本学の特性を踏まえて考案されたものであり,中学と大学の連携によって,研究と実践の交流の場ともなった。実践によって,具体的な指導法に関する成果を得ると共に,帰国生の自己肯定感や価値観の拡大,バイリンガル・バイカルチュラルの実現に向けての課題も感じられた。",
