"母語話者の談話には、丁寧体と普通体の混在が見られることが指摘されている。しかし、スピーチレベルシフトの生起は、複雑な要因が絡み合い、学習者に習得しにくい項目と言われている。本稿は、母語話者1名が4名のクラスメートに同じ内容を伝える電話連絡の会話を用いることで要因を絞り、スピーチレベルをどのような基準で使い分けているかを検討した。その結果、以下のことが観察された。(1)伝達者(普通体を基本レベルとする)は伝達の談話において、他より丁寧体を多く使用する。(2)中核的情報の伝達には直接形丁寧体あるいは間接形丁寧体を、付随的情報には間接形丁寧体を、付加的情報には間接形普通体を用いることが分かった。以上から、伝達者が立場(公的発話か否か)、情報の重みによりスピーチレベルを使い分けていることが示唆される。",
