| 内容記述 | The UN Security Council Resolution 1325 is the first resolution on women.s rights in armed conflict situations. This essay aims to shed light on the UNSCR 1325 through the arguments put forth in the World Conference on Women (WCW), present an examination of the effect of such an argument on UNSCR 1325, and offer a critical review of recent studies on the UNSCR 1325. The preamble of UNSCR \ 1325 mentions the argument advanced in the WCW, which provided the basic idea and thoughts that shaped the stated resolution. Hence, the arguments on women and armed conflict explored in the WCW must be reviewed. First, this study will review the argument presented from the first conference \ in 1975 to the UN special session of the General Assembly on “Women 2000” in chronological order. Second, the Agenda for Peace and Brahimi Report, which are influential reports to UN peace \ operations, will be analyzed to determine whether these reports reflect the results of the arguments in the WCW. Finally, recent literatures regarding UNSCR 1325 will be reviewed. The study finds that the weak influence of the results of the argument in the WCW to two UN peace documents is also the obstacle to the implementation of UNSCR 1325. |
