| 内容記述 | This article examines the circumstances on the eve of the birth of Les Ballets des Champs-Élysées through research and analysis of ballet recitals in Paris around that time, especially focusing on Les Forains and Le Rendez-vous. Under the Nazi occupation, Janine Charrat and Roland Petit presented Recital de Danse with the help of Serge Lifar. After the liberation, Petit and several dancers collaborated to present Soirées de la Danse. These recitals influenced Boris Kochno, who, in cooperation with Petit, created Les Forains. Les Forains and Le Rendez-vous described “misery, destiny and fate,” reflecting the life in Paris̶as well as the entire France̶under the occupation and in the postwar period. They emphasized humanity and realistic representation of the people at the bottom of the social ladder. The audience, consisting largely of the postwar French people, were attracted by those performances which expressed hardships, a sense of stagnation, social anxiety, solitude, love and death during the war. Enthused by Les Forains and taking notice of the popularity of Soirées, the manager of Théâtre des Champs-Élysées encouraged Petit and Kochno to organize a ballet company attached to the theater. That resulted in the birth of Les Ballets des Champs-Élysées. | |||||
