内容記述 | The effects of a program on the career decision-making self-efficacy of foreign Chinese students in Japan were investigated through two studies. Study 1 investigated the effects of the program based on “mental and directive support” (Murakoshi, 2011) on foreign Chinese students attending a Japanese language school. Study 2 clarified what the participating group learned from the program itself. The students (N=49) were randomly assigned to two groups: participating and non-participating. In Study 1, the factor analysis included “future designing,” “information gathering,” “goal selection,”and “ accomplishment of a plan ” following Murakoshi (2011). Prior to the program, using the t-test to clarify differences, both groups ’ career decision-making self-efficacy was found to be identical. However, after the program, results indicated that the participating group’s mean values were significantly higher than the non-participating group's in “accomplishment of a plan.” In Study 2, the content analysis of the responses yielded that the participating groups’ learning could be divided into two categories: “gaining a new viewpoint” and “making a target base.” Finally, this theoretically based program is suggested for foreign Chinese students making future plans while and after attending Japanese language schools. Limitations and future research studies are also discussed. | |||||
