| 内容記述 | Literature of Dazai Osamu in the postwar period shows the world of works with theme of ‘family’ problems. Especially, it is considered that some works have a relationship before and after writing 『Family Happiness』. Dazai recognizes egoism that ‘family’ has and avoids family against egoism in his novel. Only with his view on family system as a product of modern history or the legacy of the old days, it is difficult to describe ‘righteousness’, a theme of Dazai. To Dazai, the problem of family is connected to the problem of righteousness obtained from earnest experience. It is a problem of acting ‘right’ in front of God. To Dazai who is always conscious of God and fights with anxiety and fear, egoism that pursues comfort of his family ignoring others’ unhappiness is hard to be accepted for Dazai who has been struggling to love his neighbors. However, Dazai falls into self-denial due to sense of guilt and fear toward himself who wants to be righteousness but can’t. To Dazai, the problem of ‘righteousness’ is so earnest that he says he wants to keep righteousness even ‘giving his life’ or ‘martyrizing his own son’.\ It is considered that Dazai’s grief and conflicts are very well expressed even though he makes a martyr of himself and his own family in some of his novels. |
