| 内容記述 | Recently, self-monitoring occupies an important position in pronunciation learning. However, even when learners participate in self-monitoring activities, some of them have a lack of reflective awareness of their cognitive process or cannot assess their pronunciation by themselves. This paper examines potentiality of journals written by learners as a cognitive tool. The journals were analyzed based on two points of view: the content of the journals, and the process of constructing knowledge regarding pronunciation. The result shows that the content of the journals were: 1) planning, 2) evaluation, 3) identification of problems, 4) explaining about recognition of pronunciation processes, 5) questions and hypothesis, and 6) expressing their emotion and message to their teacher. In inner discourse, these 6 cognitive functions were closely linked and functioning so that learners could solve problems regarding their pronunciation. In the self-knowledge constructing process, learners verified their own perspective in coordination with phonetic knowledge. The process could further be regarded as that of achieving intern\ ally persuasive discourse. Finally, the implications and future study are discussed. |
