| 内容記述 | In this paper, I propose to look at the cultural policies on music of the Municipal government of Paris during the Occupation (the Vichy era) examining the concert projects undertaken by l'Inspection generale des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris (the Inspection general of the fine arts of the City of Paris). Though the prosperity of concert halls in Paris in this period has been considered only in relation to French national policies, this study will bring a new aspect to this phenomenon showing how local policies of the municipal government of Paris contributed to maintain French musical culture under the Occupation. My study revealed that, in organizing regular concerts, the municipal government of Paris claimed to engage in promotional activities connected with social welfare and education. However, in reality, their aim can be considered as being nationalistic as an emphasis was placed on promoting French works including those of contemporary musicians. Therefore, it is evident that l'Etat francais (the state of France) and Paris City had the same political goals on music, though Paris never cooperated with th\ e Vichy government. In comparison to the national policies of the government, which never mapped out programs and only provided subsidies and the means for musical dissemination, Paris City narrowed its musical policies down to certain plans and executed these directly through a limited body of people concerned. |
