内容記述 | The Generation grew up with materials such as comic books and games, becomes parents ages. They do not have any hesitation to use these materials and use these as one of the commonly used tools for communications with their children. In fact, this phenomenon creates mega-hit contents such as Yo-kai Watch. There are various reasons behind success of these contents, and it is said that one of the reasons is the involvement of attractive characters beloved by children. Successful cases suggest that if we can produce characters beloved by children intentionally, parents can use these characters to induce higher quality of communication with their children. In this study, it is mainly focused on communication between preschool children and mothers. In order to research how characters can influence on communication between parents and children, we analyzed the way how people to recognize characters and the recent trend of communication using characters. Also, we analyzed the best-seller picture books to find out factors that create characters to be beloved by children. This research concluded that characters are effective tools for mother-child communications and there are some essential elements which contribute the popularity of characters beloved by children. |
