| 内容記述 | The purpose of this study is to show how the pianofortes played variety roles in the girl’s (high) schools in the first half of the 20th century in Japan. Miki-Gakki that was one of the most important music dealers, supplied 649 pianofortes for the schools, especially girl’s schools from 1902 to 1940. The previous studies about the uses on the girl’s schools generally focused on the musical lessons and concerts. On one hand in this paper I treated of school events and extracurricular activities. For example in Poole Gakuin the pianofortes used for not only music educations and musical school events, extracurricular piano lessons but also school events and charity works, moreover rebuilding the school by W. M. Vories who could play the piano. And learning achievement showed at Osaka City Central Public Hall and Osaka Broadcasting Stations and so on. It was Miki-Gakki in the background played the important role. In a sense, like Poole Gakuin the girl’s school which were not the academy of music supported the diffusion western music in Japan. It is the assignment which I should work on hereafter that I bring the depth to research about the lifelong learning of western music in Japan. |
