| 内容記述 | 本稿では、わが国の妊娠期の親を対象にしたペアレンティング教育に関する施策を批判的に検討し、次に、米国のペアレンティング教育の現状を概観した。はじめて親になる夫婦の多くは生活上の変化への適応に困難さを感じ、親への移行期はストレスフルな時期とされるが、米国では、この種のストレスや困難さをあまり感じることなくスムーズに親へと移行できるよう、妊娠期の親を対象にした教育プログラムが開発されてきた。そこで、米国ワシントン州で開発された先駆的な予防的介入プログラム“Becoming Parents Program”の見学を行った。これは、はじめて親になる夫婦が良い夫婦関係を維持し、親になって生じる課題に対処できる知識や技術を学ぶプログラムであった。わが国では、リスクの高い母親のみに保健サービスなどの介入が行われ、一般の親たちの移行を支えるサービスや教育プログラムはない。ジェンダーと発達の視点を組み込んだ予防的介入プログラムの開発が望まれる。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | This article provided a critical overview of the government policies related to educating expectant couples in Japan today. I also surveyed the current parenting education system for expectant couples in the United States. Many first-time parents have difficulty adjusting to their life changes and say the transition to parenthood is a stressful period in their lives. In the U.S., parenting education programs for expectant couples have been developed to help couples ease the transition by reducing parental distress and difficulties. Then I observed “Becoming Parents Program”, an innovative intervention program developed in Washington States, U.S. It was especially designed to provide first-time parents with specific knowledge and skills for taking care of their couple relationship and dealing with the many ways becoming parents impacts their lives. Interventions have been offered to only high-risk mothers and no services exist to ease the transition to parenthood in Japan. It is expected to develop preventive intervention programs with gender and developmental perspectives. | |||||
