| 内容記述 | 本稿では、在日短期留学生の地域社会との交流に対する、関心度、参加・不参加の決定のプロセスとその要因、交流体験の認識とその変化について検討した。26人の短期留学生（アジア系、欧米系ほぼ同数）を対象に半構造化面接を実施し、質的分析を行なった結果、①高関心・継続型、②中関心・継続型、③中関心・不継続型、低関心・不継続／不参加型の４つに類型化された。①②は、環境や体験を肯定的に認識し交流を継続する者が多いこと、③は、体験を否定的に認識している者が多いこと、④は、環境や体験を肯定的に認識しても交流は継続されないことなどが見出された。交流体験による認識の変化に関しては、特に交流継続者に、地域交流への関心の喚起、地域文化や個への関心の深化、コミュニケーション法の変化、自己効力感の向上などの有意義な学びが多くみられた。分析結果をもとに、今後の支援体制や交流のあり方についても検討した。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | This paper investigates the relationship between the level of original interest in local community involvement and the factors involved in making decisions to engage, continue or discontinue such involvement among study abroad students in Japan. It is addresses the issue of the evaluation of social environment and the experience of being involved on students’ decisions. Date for the analysis were collected through half-structured interviews with 26 international students in Akita, Japan. The outcomes of the qualitative analysis refer to these four categories: 1) high interest – continuing, 2) middle interest- continuing, 3) middle interest – discontinuing 4) low interests – discontinuing. Category 1) and 2) students perceive their social environment and experience of the local community involvement positively and continue the community involvement activities. Category 3) students perceive them negatively and discontinue the community involvement activities, and although some Category 4) students perceive their experience positively, they discontinue said activities. The paper includes analysis of students’ positive transformations under influence of community involvement. | |||||
