Students try to make the class meaningful and have some rules to take part in the discussion, though they are not conscious. As a result, they follow some norms while taking part in a class discussion. For analyzing the conversation, I concentrate on \"hierarchical structure\". Murakami, Kumatoritani (1992) presented the significance of topics analyzed on the basis of \"hierarchial structure\", which analyizes the content of topics as a part of conversation. They said that the topics have meaning in the context and position in the conversation. As a result, I could see some rules in topic development. Conversation has one main stream topic which is about documents or papers. In the class, students discuss about them to understand them properly, and topics develop. And most of the topics have some relationship with the main stream. Though on the way to understanding the main topic, from some words, speakers do get side track, but soon return to the main topic.
