| 内容記述 | During the 17th century when the public concert was born in Europe, the audience was solely adults. The situation had not changed during the 18th and 19th centuries, but there were children with excellent talent called “child prodigy” who played an active part as on a stage. In this paper, I examine the educational thought and the perception of childhood during that era. I focus on the phenomena where “ child prodigy ” was enthusiastically accepted in the society and analyze its background from perceptions of educational thought. Here I will refer to a child prodigy theory by Freia Hoffmann who is a researcher about the relationship between gender and music. In those days, a child prodigy was raised as an ideal and ultimate child image. Therefore, this paper suggests a new perception on childhood through researching the child prodigy who was more visible image on ideal child at that era. | |||||
